Shop with the Founder
August 11, 2024:

Welcome back, Joy! 🎉

If you’re a regular at Footlights, you might have noticed our founder, Joy, has been back this year. Initially helping out with group fittings, she has now returned full-time this Back to Dance Season to assist with fittings and shopping, as we prepare for a resurgence in our dance community. She'll be in the shop almost around the clock, lending a hand to dancers this busy season.

Joy has been a staple of the dancewear community for over 33 years. She has a profound knowledge of our products and services. Coordinating with vendors over the years with product development and improvements, the Footlights team has been the leading dancewear and pointe shoe fitters of the Washington, D.C. area for over 33 years. As a master of the craft, Joy created a legacy that is carried on for the next generations at Footlights. Through the certified fitting regime that our master fitters conduct, we've cultivated a team of certified and frequently tested fitters to ensure the growth of knowledge, integrity and services are carried through each member of our team.

As many of our long-time clients know, the post-pandemic landscape has transformed our shopping experience. With the closure of some top studios and shifts in uniform needs, we’ve adapted by closing the Silver Spring Boutique and focusing on our Frederick location. Despite these changes, we remain committed to delivering the exceptional service Footlights has been known for over the past 33 years.

We deeply appreciate your continued support and are dedicated to ensuring Footlights remains a vital resource for our local performing arts community for years to come.

Joy's unwavering commitment to the arts has been a cornerstone of our success, and we know the Footlights community values her dedication.

Thank you for your loyalty and support. - The Footlights Team
